Sometimes, I do backup the outlook data to restore it in my home computer. There are many softwares to do this job, backup and restore the data. This simply means that the outlook is synched by the software without any human intervention. It’s quite a good because you don’t have to do anything but only plug your USB drive into the socket. I don’t need that kind of software, however. No need to synch frequently. Just once about a few weeks. So, I don’t use my money on buying the software but do it by myself.

Here are the steps to synch the data with your hands:

  1. Backup the registries including the data of your e-mail accounts and copy it to the USB drive.
    Your ComputerHKEY_CURRENTSoftwareMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionWindows Messaging SubsystemProfiles
  2. Copy all the files in the following folder.
C:Documents and SettingsYour AccountLocal SettingsApplication DataMicrosoftOutlook
  3. Finally, restore the registry and copy the files you have copied to the home computer.

That’s all. Easy, isn’t it?
