세라비형 따라 나도 What is Your Perfect Major?를 해봤다. 정교한 테스트는 아니므로 별로 기대는 하지 마시라. 문항도 많지 않고, 중고등학교 때 배운 영어로 충분히 해석할 수 있으니 궁금한 사람은 직접 해보길.
문항을 보면서 자연스럽게 철학이나 사회학쪽 점수가 높게 나올거라 예측할 수 있었다. 질문을 눈에 띌 만큼 뻔하게 만들었다는 생각이 든다. 아쉬움이 가시지 않지만 재미로 해 본 거니까 실망은 말자.
사회학은 그렇다치더라도 원래 과학자/공학자라면 누구나 동시에 철학자가 아닌가. 사회학자도 마찬가지일테고. 예술 분야는 모르겠지만 말이다. 어차피 순수 철학만으로 먹고 사려는 사람은 거의 없는데 굳이 철학을 넣을 필요가 있었을까?
P.S. 고등학교 때 이과 진학을 결정할 무렵부터 너는 문과가 더 어울린다.
라는 소리를 들어왔다. 그때는 짜증난다고 생각했었다. 그러다가 KAIST 진학하고 별천지의 천재급 후배/동기/선배들을 알게 되면서 한동안은 정말 잘못 생각한게 아닌가 하는 걱정도 했었다. 과학/공학이 재밌기는 하지만 상대적인 경쟁력을 고려하면 문과진학이 옳았었나 싶었다. 그렇긴 해도 사회학 분야의 주요업적은 과학/공학에 기초를 두고 있다는 사실에 만족한다. 개인적으로는 과학도/공학도가 사회학 등을 익히는 것이 반대편보다 쉽다고 생각한다.

Well… korean or english no matter to me. I’m not a good writer but i think i’m pretty good reader. Speaking of my life, i’m not in my best condition but i can tell you that i am full of hope. Just two months of my military service period are remained. When July comes, i’ll be free again. ^^
P.S. I might think ‘Ally’ is such common name because of ‘Ally McBeal’. Googling with a keyword ‘ally’, Ally McBeal is on the top of page but if you chose the radio button of ‘한국어 웹’, you can see that your blog is the most famous one in Korea.
