This morning was the day. Finally our server team moved to the better place. Only about 10 meters apart from the previous one, however, this place is much better than the old one. Here, I’m able to watch through the windows. In the center of Seoul, all you can see is just the forest of buildings, even so, it’s much better to have a landscape. The office looked like an animal cage, dark, dismal without light. This new workspace, however, has light and fresh air. Especially thanks to the fresh air, I’m expecting no-longer-headache. This is a very huge step to the increase of productivity. I’ll do my work much better.
Just little change of the working environment does mean many things, it seems. Actually, a relationship between productivity and workspace is not a new issue. "Peopleware: Productive Projects and Teams", which is written by Tom DeMarco and Timothy Lister, has spent many pages for this topic. It might be good for you to read this book if you really want to know more. This book is a well-known masterpiece of the productivity books, especially of software engineering.
Anyway, I’m happy now.
